An Abundance of Roses

I went to the Park of Roses in my state just a little while ago, and I took some photos of the beautiful roses there. There were fields and fields of divine corals and pinks and reds, and they were breathtaking.

The simplicity of the rose enthralls me. Its' pureness is astonishing; its' fragrance rich and sweet.

Being in a field of flowers is one of the most splendid feelings in the world... Although it was wet, it was exquisite being surrounded by splashes of vivid color.

Watch my video if you so please. :)

Happy Fourth of July! Do you have any plans this weekend?

"If you enjoy the fragrance of a rose, you must accept the thorns which it bears." ~ Issac Hayes

Waterside

The Brook // @PeridotCove
The sky is a gorgeous shade of blue, perfect for flying kites and having picnics with friends. The gentle breeze carries the sounds of playful screams from rambunctious toddlers, their fingers sticky from the peanut-butter-jelly sandwiches they have just finished eating. Two young women sit talking on the edge of the brook, their tiny, precious babies wrapped safely in their arms. Ducks merrily float along in the murky water, gobbling up the crumbled pieces of bread tossed to them by passersby. As I step along the boardwalk, careful not to slip on the wet wood, I breathe in the humid air. I watch the people, from the young to the elderly, laughing and talking and making vivid hand gestures, full of emotion. They fan themselves to cool off from the heat and soak their feet in the rippling water. They play pat-a-cake and lie back on the mantis green grass, cloud-watching. They live in the moment, here at the brook. I want to live in the moment, too.
I hurriedly slip off my sandals and briskly walk along the rest of the boardwalk, stopping only when I reach my destination- the waterside, where I intend to spend the rest of my afternoon in tranquility.

Note: This was inspired by a recent walk I took by the brook. I hope you enjoyed!

Sir Sun

@PeridotCove
Mother Nature beckons
with her brilliant blinding rays.
Her warmth touches shoulders,
and people turn her way.
When the dawn chorus begins,
and Mister Moon is no more,
Mother Nature unveils her spirit,
an effervescent array.
Her signal tells all
not to worry or fret away.
Sir Sun is a message
of a clear, brand new day.

I figured I would open up Peridot Cove with a bit of poetry. I just love using words to express my inner creativity, and I really do hope you will grab a cup of coffee and stay a while!
