In Recent Times // August '15

I took this on our DC trip. xx I don't know what it is, but I adore this photo.

reading blogs, for the most part. I've just been so busy lately, what with our road trip to DC and all. Trust me, I'll be up and reading next month.

watching Sherlock! My friends have been telling me for years to try it out, but I just recently watched the first episode. All I can say is, it's absolutely amazing, and I definitely recommend it!

snacking on Nestle Drumsticks. These remind me so much of my childhood!

obsessing over room inspiration. ;) We're just starting the long process of redoing my bedroom, and while I am ecstatic, it's a whole lot of work! I'm looking for a color pallet right now, but I haven't found anything yet that's really caught my eye. Do you have any suggestions?

thinking about how it was raining for a month straight, and now there's no rain at all. We have such unusual weather over here!

doing back to school preparation. I start this week, which is crazy to think about. This summer has just gone by too fast! I created a blog, I went to Washington DC, and volunteered in my community ... It's been what I call a perfect summer.

inspired by the beautiful blogs and beautiful girls I've discovered lately. Amy and Tane have really kept me going this month.

I've wanted to find a new show or two to get sucked into. I'm really open to anything, so please do leave me a suggestion below. <3

  2. Getting your room redesigned must be exciting! If I had to choose a color palette, I'd go for a sea inspired one (light blue, sea green, sand etc) but maybe blue wouldn't be such a good color for a room since it doesn't really help you sleep...
I loved Sherlock! I started it after Doctor Who, then I went for Supernatural. I'm currently on House MD right now- and they're all great. I got a bit bored of Supernatural though :\ but it's good for people who enjoy one track shows (like pokemon).

    1. It is definitely very exciting! My room's been the same since I was small, so I feel like I'm finding myself through the process of redesigning my room. What's funny is, my walls are light blue now. :D Maybe that's why I'm sometimes up into the late hours of the night?
P.S. I'm so glad to have found a fellow Sherlocked reader!

  3. Sherlock is such a great show! How far have you gotten into it? It sounds like your summer is going great-- school is lurking up on my corner, too, but well, it's unavoidable. Best that we go in smiling and refreshed from vacation, huh? :)

    1. Hi! xx I've actually only seen the first season so far, but I'm really trying to take my time since the episodes only come out every two years. ;( I still can't believe how fast the summer flew by! Best wishes for your school year, Morning!

  5. I love that picture too!
What is your personality? girly, tomboy, or happy and bright. I like Tiffany Blue for bright and happy. I also like a green for tomboy.
Here is a show. Murder She Wrote. If you like Sherlock Holmes you'd probably like Murder She Wrote. It's a mystery or obviously a murder show. It's awesome! My family is obsessed with it!

  8. Sherlock is amazing. <3 Hopefully season 4 will come out by the time you finish all seasons so you can keep watching. :') As for your walls...what about a light, cream-ish yellow? It really brightens up a room. Or any light, light colour. So light that it's almost white, you know?

    1. Hopefully. xx Light colors are exactly what I am going for, actually! I'm thinking about a light blush or coral color, but yellow will definitely be on my list. Thanks for the suggestions, Jo!

  10. Sherlock is a great show. I can't wait for the next season (unfortunately we don't know yet when it will air). Have you watched Firefly? It's a western sci-fi and I totally recommend it.
Anyway, thinking about redesigning your room must be exciting. This fall I'll move in with my boyfriend in a completely new city to both of us and I'm anxious about decorating the place.

New GFC follower, I'd be glad if you did the same :)

My room is coming off to a wonderful start. We headed up to Ikea last week, which was perfect. I ended up finding some great pieces there. Thank you for visiting!

I love how bright and lively that photo you took is, hope you’ve had a good holidays (seems like it super productive and fun by the sounds of it!) and I would love to see how your room ends up! I used pinterest for my room inspiration hehe it’s the best - make sure you check it out! At the moment my room is quite light, bright and colourful with pops of green and pink and turquoise and gold :)

P.S. My friends love Sherlock too so I’ve been meaning to watch it properly for a while!

    1. You're welcome, Raashi! It was my pleasure. xx Your room sounds so lovely! I'm thinking of going with a very light blush color. At first I wanted a cream accent wall, but now I'm not so sure. Redecorating is such a long process! I can't imagine how it's going to be one day when I get my own little place...
You should definitely watch Sherlock! You'll fall in love. Trust me. <3

    1. I really did have a great break, but now I'm back in school. Just today, I had homework in every single subject. It's not fun, although I know it's going to be so helpful for me in the future... ;(
I'd be so interested in seeing your room when it is finalized! I'm so excited at the progress of mine. You should know I've had the same room since I was a baby, so I've gotten sort of "attached" to the Disney wallpaper. I'm going to be sad to see it ripped off here soon, but I know it's for the best... I'm really finding myself through redoing my room.
      Have a great school year!
